Good news!!!
Now I have to find other mmorpg to play, and I am not sure I will come back to GW when ch4 comes out.
This news also make me to have no any motivation to participate in this weekend event.
Good luck, Anet

I am feeling the same as quite a few of the posters here. At this moment there is nothing keeping me playing Guild Wars, Here are my reasons that I may not get teh next chapter and the reasons that I have defected to another MMORPG for teh time beign (this may change but NC-Soft better put out one killer expansion to change my mind):
1 NC-Soft has effectively allienated the PVE crowd by nerfing several hundred skills.
2 Nightfall and Factions introduced major grinding to go further in teh game, not something that i like to do at all.
3 Finishing Profecies was fun, Finishing Factions was not to much to brag about (only took 4 characters out of 8 tot eh end), Nightfall is just boring only finished it with one character and do not plan on doing so with others.
4 Broken titles, we all know which ones so I will not name them.
5 No incentive to actualy finish the newest chapters, at least with Profecies there was a sence of occomplishment.
6 Fractured community, WHAT HAPPENED?
7 Either inability of others to help or just plain not wantimng to help out new players, they are the ones who will?? keep Guild Wars going "strong".
8 Finaly Pretty much nerfing to death a couple professions so they are useless now except for maybe pve missions.

This is a belief alot of people alot of people follow in guildwars and is why all these doom-gloom threads make me laugh. Guildwars is a game that you can quit anytime after youve done a certain amount of the game and come back after every major update. I myself havent been in guildwars for a few weeks, just waiting on the new chapter/stuff to come out.

Is it sad that I care more about the "Next" button at the bottom of that NCSoft article than this whole argument?

I'm shocked they're actually releasing Exteel During beta you could barely find anyone to play with. Also not that interesting aside from the death matches, if you manage to find one of those lol. I smell another bomb. It'll be the next Auto Assault *puke*. Can't even imagine that they would make it pay to play.

Actually, ANet do care that people are still playing. Their model is/was based upon players buying a new expansion every six months. If enough people stop playing, that's less of a fanbase to buy the latest expansion.
Also, people generally don't just stop playing online games. They stop playing one and move to another. I have personally seen quite a few people leaving GW to play other subscription-based MMO's. Once you lose these players to a subscription-based game, it takes a lot more to persuade them back.
I'm looking at other options for my online gaming at the minute for a number of reasons. Firstly, because of a complete lack of information on chapter 4. I've no doubt that ANet are financially healthy and will be releasing a fourth chapter, but a little information would help alleviate some of the concerns that seem be manifesting themselves. Secondly, as a PvE gamer, I feel pretty marginalised by all the skill changes and the obsession with balancing PvP. A cheap free-for-all in the elite missions in Factions? No thanks, I won't be touching that with a barge-pole, I've been there and done that many times already.
I too, am getting tired of seeing the same suggestions put forth for game improvements; auction houses, walking, additional storage, fixed title tracks. Gaile and co. appear to superficially acknowledge these players concerns, but we still havn't seen anything materialise. Syncing lips in cut scenes in Factions and Prophecies? For the amount of time and effort it took, why? SKIP button. I've seen those scenes already, I won't be rewatching them again.
I'm not a pessimist or a troll, and you can't just brush aside my concerns by trying to label me as such. I love gaming, I love Guild Wars, but I really don't see what there is to keep me playing when I could be getting a fresh gaming fix elsewhere.

I'm excited about the next chapter. I would like to get some information soon. In the meantime, I have finished all 3 chapters, and will now get back to pvp. Who knows, now that assassins have been boosted, I might ressurect mine. However, I'm not going to leave Guild Wars to pay a subscription elsewhere. There's too much here, and such a huge selection of workable skills, I'm not going anywhere.

congrats, i have found myself 4 other MMOs to play and i wasnt even looking hard. Using GW to chat these days and just some FoW guildruns are about as much as i care to do with it these days. Trying out Archlord at the moment since one of the fellow forumers brought to my attention that they had just removed their subscription based model and is offering Free online play once you purchase the box. Not to mentions theres plenty of closed betas to be open betas on the markets nowadays.
Of course do feel free to stick around in ghost towns or spamming your medicore items that everyone else "have", since honestly no body really cares.
As for delay of C4, its a delicate scale:
Boredom(players)___________VS____________Sales(ANE T)
Newer games are being developed and marketed all the time, and players leave for other games when it stops becoming fun or gets bored, its nothing new and hopefully Anet's idealology on how the the game should be can afford them to keep the game going and pay wages. Personally i dont think i will be around much longer to find out- or to see C4 being More of the same .

I have 8 PvE toons (and I know I am nowhere near the only player in GW to have that many or more) and most of them have only finished one or at most two chapters. I'm enjoying the time to get my other characters through the games. I tend to stick with one game for a very long time, and I don't foresee leaving GW any time soon.

I hope chapter 4 is a little more arcadey with lots of instant PvP fun. I wanna see more interactive maps, capture the spawn points, control the castle etc, and longer battles too, especially since everyone can reconnect to any game they drop out of.
As long as all of my old game stuff is applicable and accessable to the new chapter, things can only get better!

I have six PvE characters. One has completed all campaign and has all the primary proffesion skills. One has all the primary proffesion skills and is almost done all three campaign. One has almsot all primary and almost all campaign. Two have become mules, pretty much because I find they are quite boring to play. I started an assassin and am looking forward to getting all the assasin skills and finishing NF and Factions with it. I am glad there will be a lot of time because when Factions came out I felt rushed with trying to get four characters through that I ended up deleting one so I wouldn't feel obligated.
I will admit that PvE isn't to great in GW (although I particularly liked some of the early missions of NF, and that they added some that require little or no fighting: the courtcase type and the day of lyss) but PvP always makes me keep playing. If Factions didn't introduce the new forms of PvP I don't think I would still be playing. Whenever I get bored of PvE I go to PvP which gets my interest back up. GW was meant to be a PvP game, it is only natural that the skill balances they do are FOR PVP. If you are a person who can't adapt to a skill change then maybe GW isn't for you.
